Character info
Series/Fandom: Chrono Trigger
Character's Name: Ayla
Character's Sex: Female
Character's Age: 24
Canon point: End game

Abilities:
Ayla almost entirely relies on dealing physical damage... with her fists. She is very strong, the strongest damage dealer in the party in fact, and also one of the quickest. As woman living in prehistoric times, she certainly knows how to defend herself and her people, and due to her capabilities in battle, she has been elected as Chief in the Ioka tribe. She has been called the strongest warrior there, and is known among other tribes for her abilities as well. She has a few special attacks in her arsenal as well;

Kiss → Heals a small amount of HP to one ally.
Roundillo Kick (Rollo Kick) → A somersault, followed by a drop kick.
Cat Attack → A "savage" attack involving her nails and teeth. A prehistoric catfight with an enemy if you want to imagine it that way...
Boulder Toss (Rock Throw) → Ayla lifts up the enemy, sends them flying in the air, and allows them to come crashing down to the ground.
Charm (Seduction) → Distracts /charms one enemy so that she can steal from them.
Tail Spin → Ayla spins violently, pretty much almost causing a tornado, and deals damage.
Dino Tail → Summons a gigantic dinosaur to the battlefield to damage enemies. The lower Ayla's HP, the more effective the attack is.
Triple Kick → Three drop kicks in rapid succession.

Members of the party are also able to use dual techniques, special moves that require at least two of them to be present. Each team member has their own respective attacks with others, with the potential for different kinds of elemental damage in the process. Ayla's are as follows;

Drill Kick → Crono / Ayla → Ayla spins on top of Crono's sword, and then sends herself hurling towards the enemy for a kick.
Thunder Chomp (Volt Bite) → Crono / Ayla → Crono strikes Ayla with lightning, infusing her with energy, and she then bites the target mercilessly. (Light)
Falcon Strike (Falcon Hit) → Crono / Ayla → Ayla launches Crono into the air, who comes in swooping down to strike the enemies, sword first, with immense force.

Twin Charm → Marle / Ayla → Both lovely ladies work their magic for a double steal.
Ice Toss → Marle / Ayla → Marle casts an ice spell on Ayla, who throws multiple shards at enemies in a close range. (Ice)
Iceberg Toss (Cube Toss) → Marle / Ayla → Marle conjures a large glacier, which Ayla tosses at the target. (Ice)

Flame Kick → Lucca / Ayla → Lucca casts a fire spell with Ayla included in it, who then gets sent flying foot first. (Fire)
Inferno (Fire Whirl) → Lucca / Ayla → Ayla initiates her 'Tail Spin' move while Lucca casts fire, resulting in a fire-tornado. (Fire)
Blaze Kick → Lucca / Ayla → A high level fire spell, courtesy of Lucca, followed by a powerful dropkick. (Fire)

Boogie → Robo / Ayla → Causes surrounding enemies to STOP momentarily.
Spin Kick → Robo / Ayla → Robo launches Ayla into a powerful spin kick, aimed with precision.
Beast Toss → Robo / Ayla → The two of them toss an enemy between eachother, causing damage.

Slurp Kiss → Frog / Ayla → Ayla's restorative move, helped along by Frog to now affect the entire party instead of just one member!
Bubble Burst → Frog / Ayla → Ayla is encased in Frog's water spell, carried over to the target, and body slams ontop of them.
Dropdown (Drop Kick) → Frog / Ayla → Both Ayla and Frog leap off, and come diving down on the enemy.

Along with the double techniques of course... come the triple techniques! They have the same idea behind them, as to now they need three members to execute properly;

Final Kick → Crono / Marle / Ayla → With the help of both Marle and Crono's magic -- Ayla is able to perform a super kick! (Shadow)
Gatling Kick → Crono / Lucca / Ayla → Same idea, except with Lucca this time, with their magic propelling her, Ayla performs a super spin kick. (Shadow)
Twister → Crono / Robo / Ayla → Crono gets on Robo's shoulders, Ayla gets on Crono's -- and they spin around violently to create a large tornado. (Shadow)
3D Attack → Crono / Frog /Ayla → Crono and Frog perform an X-Strike on the enemy, and Ayla dives from above to deal damage.
Spin Strike → Frog / Robo / Ayla → Robo and Ayla spin around the target, while Frog leaps down with his sword.
Poyozo Dance → Marle / Lucca / Ayla → All three ladies throw on their dancing shoes, confuse the enemy, and deal non-elemental damage.

Strengths:
Ayla is a fighter! She's physically tough, using manly her own two hands in battle (though she's been shown to swing a club around once or twice), and usually emerging victorious. She is one of the quickest members of the party, also shown to possess great agility since some of her attacks include various flips and somersaults. She has a great deal of stamina and endurance as well and can often take on many enemies at once without showing signs of tiring.

People from Ayla's era are relatively close to the Earth upon which they live, and Ayla herself is no exception. It seems as though she is keen on reading the earth and trails, interpreting the clues that the land gives her. Even when the great being Lavos arrives and buries itself beneath the surface of the planet, Ayla is able to tell that he has already reached great depths simply by placing a hand to the ground. She tends to display almost animalistic qualities often, (shown especially when she sprints, since she does so on all fours) and as such, would probably be ice cream able to read the energies of the planet much in the same way they would. Feeling an oncoming storm for example, is perhaps something that she would be able to sense before it actually happened. Her senses are all quite keen and well-developed, being that she lives off of the wild and only the strong survive in her time.

Weaknesses:
Coming from a time where humans had not yet evolved enough to be able to use magic, Ayla cannot use the stuff. She is still quite susceptible to its damage, however, but lacks the ability to be able to shield herself from an oncoming magical onslaught. She has only a mild elemental attribute leaning towards fire, but other than that, it is pretty much a concept / practice that remains a mystery to her. She relies primarily on her fists for combat, and being the squishy fleshy human that she is, this can lead to some rather sticky situations. If Ayla expends too much energy, she will pass out, unable to defend herself. Her strength could almost be considered superhuman, but her body is limited to the 'traditional' weaknesses of losing too much blood, falling from extreme heights, burned alive, etc. etc...

Background:
65,000,000 BC

Appearance:
Ayla strong!

Personality:
Being that Ayla lives in prehistoric times, she very much abides by the simplest of laws -- survival of the fittest. She lives her life according to this principle, and as such, has become quite a strong and capable woman. Her motto, in her own words, is "win and live, lose and die." As the chief of her tribe, her people look to her as a source of strength, and boy, does she ever provide them with one and then some. Ayla believes in standing up and fighting for what you want, or want to achieve. She is even seen as being slightly critical of the neighbouring Laruba tribe, who would rather hide in order to avoid the conflict affecting them both. It truly seems as though she isn't afraid of anything, and will rise to any challenge set before her, regardless of the odds. She is even ready to take on the Repities (her sworn enemies) all by her lonesome, before Crono and his team arrive to lend a hand. Really, she cares greatly for her people and would go to any lengths necessary to ensure their safety.

Ayla also knows how to have fun! After all, the best part of winning a battle is getting to celebrate your victory afterwards! She invites the party to their meeting grounds and initiates a celebration in their honour, with the Ioka tribe providing music, food and of course, some good old (and by old I mean old fashioned paopu booze. The next day, she can be seem suffering from a bit of a hangover, indicating that perhaps she doesn't quite know when to quit, either. As a product of her environment, she isn't exactly the classiest or most well mannered either, and actually can be seen throwing up after a major battle the same day (and she probably felt much better after). She is fun to be around, and enjoys a good laugh. She definitely is not the 'serious business' type and knows how to let loose and have a good time every now and then. When she is first introduced, she claims that in addition to liking "strong people" she also likes "funny people" indicating that she can appreciate the lighter side of life.

As chief, Ayla is entrusted to make some big decisions where her people are concerned, and their lives are often in her hands. Unfortunately she doesn't always think things through before acting on them, which can lead to the endangerment of the entire tribe if she's not careful. A perfect example of this is when the Laruba tribe is attacked, and blame Ayla herself for bringing the misfortune upon them, stating that the enemy followed her to their camp, and therefore put their lives in the direct line of fire. While she does show remorse that the people and the village suffered, she does not necessarily apologize for her actions, as she firmly believes that one must fight for and defend what is theirs in order secure the future. She can be quite forceful when it comes down to it, and doesn't often take "no" for an answer. She also is not afraid to punish those that get out of line (of course punishment in her time is rather crude and really is as literal as a slap on the wrist) as she can be seen scolding Kino for stealing the Gate Key from Crono and co.

Being that she lives in 65,000,000 BC, it's easy to see how she can be rather ignorant about the ways the world of today sometimes works. She tries her best to enforce her own logic to the situation, but often things from this day and age can go right over her head. As the 'english' language is just coming to be invented in her time, she speaks in a broken tongue, always referring to herself in the third person, and keeping her sentences down to a few words at a time, getting directly to the meat and potatoes of the conversation. She is straight forward and means what she says, for the simple fact that she really doesn't know how to sugar-coat or dance around sensitive topics. In fact, she probably doesn't even know what would be considered a sensitive topic. That isn't to say that she's 'insensitive' as she can be seen trying to comfort various team members ("No cry. Make Crono sad that way."), only that she would not see the point in deceiving others or omitting the truth. Her ignorance can sometimes come off as rude to the wrong person (ie. Expressing concern over the size of Marle's breasts when it came to mothering children...), but at the end of the day, she means well. She just doesn't know any better...

Strengths:
Ayla is incredibly strong-willed. Regardless of personal consequence she is willing to meet any challenge head-on, and see it through to the end. She does not give up, nor give in when under pressure. She is very brave, and could even be considered rather fearless. She is not easily intimidated (if at all) and often can be found being a source of strength for the others to lean on in darker times. She doesn't let things get her down, and is certainly not the emotional type. Ayla is very much the sort of person who would rather confront an enemy on her own, rather than getting others involved and possibly hurt. As the chief of a tribe in struggling times, it is her duty to make sure that the future generations survive. That being said, she would not necessairily refuse the assistance if it was offered to her either (as seen when Crono and the group follow her as she leaves with the intent of traveling to the Tyrano Lair).

As a leader, she is used to making decisions and taking matters into her own hands, and isn't afraid to step up to the plate when it's needed. She has strong morals and certainly knows the difference between right and wrong, which no doubt helped to contribute to her ascension as Chief, on top of her physical prowess. She isn't afraid to exercise her opinion on a topic, even if it doesn't meet with the otherwise popular vote. She tends to march to the beat of her own drum and doesn't let outside circumstances affect her negatively. She is quite focused when she sets her mind to something, even if her thought process seems a little erratic on the surface. Ayla is very loyal, and gives it her all without holding back. She is also rather generous, and though she is a little rough around the edges, quite good-natured and friendly. She looks to make allies and friends before resorting to a rivalry. She has an exciting, strong energy around her that could even be considered somewhat contagious thanks to her almost extreme enthusiasm. She doesn't like seeing others upset or sad, and would be more inclined to encourage them to turn their sorrow into strength. Wealso see first hand her compassion as a fighter, surprising her peers when she attempts to spare the life of her adversary, the Reptite leader, Azala.

Weaknesses:
As previously stated, as a product of her environment, Ayla's way of processing things can be rather... simplistic at the best of times. She is most certainly the braun over brains type, and more than likely believes that most of life's problems can be solved with your fists. She jumps into situations blindly a lot of time, and doesn't really understand the concept of 'careful planning' or 'minute details' if you get my drift. It wouldn't be much of a challenge for someone much smarter than her to take advantage of this. She isn't stupid per se, but... definitely a little dim. This is obvious even in her communication skills, which are rather sub-par. She definitely isn't the most brilliant of coversationalists out there. This could no doubt lead to some misunderstandings in the future for her. She tends takes things very literally, because that's the only way she knows how to process things. If I were you, I'd be careful telling her to 'break a leg.'

When she doesn't understand something well enough, she is more inclined to laugh it off, (ie. Lucca tells her they are from "The way after the day after tomorrow") which again, can serve to outline her ignorance when it comes to certain things ("You funny!" is her response, and she doesn't question it further). She tries her best, but sometimes she just can't make the cut when it comes to climbing the intellectual ladder.
